Turkey eatin’ day

We had a nice Thanksgiving here at our house.  It was a little less chaotic than we had a few days back, but sometimes a nice, quiet day is good to have!

We did a few crafts.

Ate a few platefuls.

And watched a little football.

Evelyn got her nose pierced “just like aunt Quincy.”

We chased around a feral baby.

Saw a lot of beauty.

And enjoyed hanging out together.

Took a couple of twin naps.

And missed a few people who we didn’t get to see.
Preston went to be with Sunny’s family.
Cameron came by for a while, but then went on to be with Lauren’s family.  Colin was at Spencer’s family (and on call). And Quincy stayed at WSU since she had to work both Wednesday and Friday.
I am very thankful for all of my people.  For having enough. For being married to my best everything. And for the life that we have been blessed to live.  Happy Thanksgiving.

Glowing like wild

It has been a long, but fun day.  Jim and I took off work early.  He had a doctor appointment to do a blood flow study on his legs (ok so that wasn’t really fun - but….).  We did some shopping, and had a nice lunch together. Then I had to get my DOT physical so I don’t get fired when it expires next month.  We then did more shopping.  We had to get all the things for Thanksgiving and for Evie’s birthday party this weekend.
When we got home, the girls were ready to slam down a sandwich and head to KC!   We met Cameron and went to Glow wild at the KC zoo.

Now I am generally not impressed with Christmas lights, and I was more enticed by the fact that your ticket also got you into the aquarium.  I will admit that these lights were amazing and I enjoyed all of it!  And I would also say the price of admission was worth it - and I’d pay it again just to see Evie’s face when the Grinch stole her funnel cake!  She was so not amused!  It was hilarious.

If I was a better photographer this would be funny- Cameron and Jim being peg leg, hook hands in front of a pirate ship.  Somehow, missing the ship in the background sort of ruined it.

It isn’t often that I get an entire day with this one.  I am thankful for the time - and for his willingness to humor our crazy ideas all the time.   Although, he thoroughly enjoyed the aquarium!   (Me too- although I also really love penguins!).

We were there walking around for around 2 hours.  This little one was so well behaved!  She was DONE with us by the end though!   She wanted down!

I’m not sure if I would go back, but I’m glad I got to go once!  I loved having the time to hang out with some of my people!
