Cameron's spring band concert

Cameron plays the trombone in the jazz band at school.  (Above)
And he plays the tuba in the marching and concert band. (Below).  They had their end of the year concert tonight.  They sounded amazing.
At the spring concert, they give out awards, honor the seniors, and announce scholarship winners.   I was very proud of Cameron, who was recognized as the male band member with the best character.  Good job Cameron!
The band kids all pitched in and got the band booster board thank you gift cards.  I cannot tell you how thankful I am that I put on a clean shirt before we left!

One day at our place....

Cameron wanted a bow tie. Nobody knows why.  Madison has a serious Amazon addiction so she set him up!  He wore this to school today.  No particular reason.  He also wore it to Colin's ball game tonight.  When I asked him why he wanted to go to a ballgame all dressed up he asked me if I hate America.  Learning good logic at school I guess.
This weekend, I sorted clothes.  I found this owl jacket for Saige.   She loves it.  She refused to take it off or take the hood down all morning long!
I came home from work today to find all my friends laying in my parking spot.   They must have needed rest because even honking at them did not get them to move!  It was a real moment when I realized how spoiled they really are!  Curley is now completely weaned.  She doesn't want to be, but she is living with it!   Her leg has not gotten better and a trip to the vet didn't seem to help her.
Larry is also a little laid up from getting castrated this weekend!
I am pretty sure Jack the Ripper is pregnant.  The kids are sure excited about kitties I have no intention of keeping!
Preston brought home a few art projects.  He does pretty good work for a kid who supposedly would rather be shot than do art!
Despite her cuteness, not even Blitz can get Colin to share his pizza!
And speaking of Colin, he played really well again tonight.  I will go on record and say I prefer warmer weather for watching baseball!   Quincy had her first ball practice tonight as well.  She is the only one we have playing summer ball this year....I don't know that we have ever had only one team to chase!  I smell free time!!!

A little catching up

I have found several photos on my phone that I hadn't taken the time to blog about.  Cameron was elected as the Vice President of his FBLA chapter this week. He was excited to beat out a few upper classmen for the position.  We are proud of him.  He was also elected to be the sophomore class rep for Student council.
We have been trying to wean Curley.  She is not being receptive to this plan.  She has been screaming at the door for her noon feeding which we have cut out. Poor baby girl!  Last night, Preston put her back in the pen for the 3rd time and somehow got her leg caught in the fence.    She is now limping and her momma Preston feels horrible.  I have a feeling she is milking it for all its worth hoping we will rethink the weaning!

Colin has been playing baseball on both the jv and the varsity teams.  He is playing left field and had become quite a tremendous batter!   Last night, I neglected to go to his game since it was so cold outside.  Of course, when I don't go he got a 3 run double and then came in making him responsible for helping with 4 of the 5 points they scored.  I always miss the good stuff!
Saige has decided that in addition to always wearing Chapstick she also should wear glasses like Harper. We had to remove the lenses though since her eyesight is good!
Preston got sent to the principal last week.   It was for being extra helpful though and cleaning up a mess at breakfast when everyone else just walked by.  This kind of office visit I don't mind hearing about!
Blitz is getting big already.  I still think she is one of the smartest, most sensitive dogs I have ever seen.   She has a couple of habits we are working on such as jumping and nipping but she is getting better.  Today she dug up a mole in the yard so she scored extra credit points with Jim!

After prom

The after prom party committee always hosts an open house while the kids are at prom.   That way they get a little more use out of the equipment they rent for the big kids!   My younger crowd loves to go to the open house.  So do I, where else can you have so much fun for free?
The mechanical bull was definitely a favorite!

And Saige about jumped her legs off in the bounce house!
Preston and Quincy tried out the Velcro wall, but they weren't big enough to jump high enough to get very stuck!
During the actual after prom party, I worked all night in the kitchen baking pizzas, making taquitos, and warming up various other junk food.  I didn't take too much time to see what the big kids were doing.  When I did step out, Colin informed me he thought he was at a professional level on bull riding!   Some of the dads running the bull were having a little bit too much fun!  Colin won a set of Beats.  I am not sure when I have seen him happier about anything!
Seems like prom and after prom were both a big success.
Jim got up with the kids this morning so I  could sleep in. I am thankful for that!

Colin's junior prom (photo heavy)

Colin and Jodi went off to prom.   Luckily, Jodi forced Colin into a photo shoot!   Everyone knows how much I love photos!
Hopefully they have a great time!
