Preston and Quincy

Tonight, Preston had a band concert. The gym was over crowded and I didn't feel like I could move, so I didn't get many photos. Preston saw me when he was walking in and cheesed it up a little. The band sounded amazing.

Last night, Quincy had a basketball game. Her team doesn't know quite what to do with small, quick kids and they struggled a little bit. Even though they didn't win, they are making progress and Quincy really enjoys playing!

Thanksgiving break....you guessed it

It went by too fast! As usual! We still have one more day, but it is already packed full of stuff and there is no more time for relaxing, visiting, and enjoying down time! Back to the grind we go!

It was fun while it lasted! We truly loved having the kids all home. Saige misses Colin! He was barely in the door when she demanded that he read to her. I believe he misses her too, although he would never admit it! Colin had to head back this afternoon for weigh in and practice. He said it was crazy how fast this semester is flying by!

We still have not heard back from the insurance adjuster. It has been very hard on Mallory, who just wants an answer on if they are going to fix it, or if we need to go car shopping. She got her ability to wait from her mom! It really is dumb that it takes so long, the moral of the story seems to be "don't wreck your car during the holidays?" Cameron tried to make her feel better by fixing her hair. It was a nice gesture, but it didn't actually work!

We finally found a way to utilize these girls' energy in a way that benefits us! They did a great job working on everyone's feet, and used enough lotion to keep us soft until spring! I have said before, and will say again that I love how close they are. They never seem to have any drama and entertain each other without fighting. They are pretty good about including the little sisters too!

Slice is the neediest cat I have ever seen. He can always be found laying on someone. Usually the lap isn't good enough. He has to be in your hair, or near your face. He loves everyone's attention, but Harper seems to put up with his craziness the most! It's good to have a cat for your bff!

The 4-H club is helping out with the Salvation Army's red kettle campaign. The kids were really excited to help. I am pleased that they are keeping the money raised local. It is a great way to help those less fortunate.

Cameron's basketball team had an exhibition game against the alumni. Cameron played hard! The game was a lot of fun to watch!

The girls were squealy excited to get a package in the mail! Thanks Aunt Pam!

I have completely enjoyed every minute of this break.

Thanksgiving

We had a nice, quiet Turkey Eating day here at our casa. I am so thankful for the many blessings in my life.

The biggest blessing of all though, is having all of our kids home together this year. A year ago, we thought I had eye cancer. I spent last Thanksgiving in limbo of not really knowing what the prognosis was. I loved having my family around, but that weighed on my mind pretty heavily. This week, I had a follow up appointment and there was no change on the spot on my eye. They are fairly sure it is not cancer and let me go for a full year before I have to go back. I am just overwhelmed with gratitude for my life, my health and my family. I have a great life, great husband, great kids and I give thanks to God for his many blessings.

Jim's birthday

Today was Jim's birthday. He didn't have a very good day due to not feeling well. He spent most of the day sleeping. I am not sure he is feeling better since he declined cake. Hoping he feels better tomorrow.
Jim is such a great husband and father, it made me feel bad that his birthday wasn't good!
Colin is home from college for a whole week and so that was a nice gift! Mallory wrecked her car into a deer and we suspect it is totaled. That was not a nice gift. She was not hurt, that is good. Life is full of good and bad but we have found that the good far outweighs the bad and so we are very blessed. Our life is blessed by Jim being in it. Hope he is able to see something good in a sick day! Love you Jim! Happy birthday!

Langsgiving and other stuff

We had Langsgiving at our house today. We were missing a few, but still had over 60 people show up! It was fun to see them all!

Cameron attended the FBLA fall leadership conference in Dallas the past few days. He had a great time!
