Happy Halloween!!!

Happiest day of the year!   Colin and Cameron had a football game. I think Cameron would have actually liked to take the girls trick or treating though!
The unicorn princess broke her tiara about an hour before go time.  It caused a small hiccup in the costume department but Malory saved the day by making her into a cat princess instead.
This little girl is growing up!  She made it a lot further than I imagined she would and is pretty thrilled with her stash!
The cowboy.  I had to giggle at the request of making her eyebrows just as bushy as grandpa's, and the mustache had to be similar to grandpa (because he is a real cowboy). She also had to have a flannel shirt!  She is a crack up sometimes!
Homer here decided he was too old to trick or treat with his mom.  I was a bit sad, but he had a lot of fun with his friends!
And my personal favorite part, seeing the big candy exchange at the end of the night.  Everyone knows what they love he most.  Reese's fetch a super high price!
I love this holiday.  It is pure fun.  Can't wait to do it all again next time!

Anniversary moments

There is no school on Halloween day (of course not....you can not have school on the important holidays!). The kids had their school parties today.  Since Harper is in the morning preschool, and Overbrook school does their town parade in the afternoon, her class went to Brookside Manor and trick or treated the residents, and had a party there.  Harper was very excited about the party and about seeing Madison at work! Madison  said the residents absolutely loved it too!
It worked out well for Harper since she was then free to help her daddy hand out candy during the parade!  She lasted about 4 minutes and then quickly got overwhelmed!
I have learned that sometimes the smallest things bring the biggest joy!  Quincy got the Murray McMurray catalog in today's mail.  She had already circled all of her favorites and pointed out the barnyard specials!  The catalog was completely free....the result of asking for a free catalog may be astronomical!
Johnny is at that age where he is up for anything the girls want to do.  Sure I would be happy to ride in a basket.  Sure I would love to wear doll clothes.  You want me to sit on the side of the tub while you take a bath?  I would love to!  I know this phase won't last long, but the girls sure are enjoying the cat!
I have been known to not care where the kids sleep on nights they don't have school. They are often found sprawled all over the living room floor on Saturday morning.  This, however was a new one. Preston got a telescope and microscope for his birthday.   It came in a pretty big box.  I came up just now from folding laundry and found Quincy fast asleep in the dining dining room insise the box!  I hope she sleeps well!
When Jim and I picked a wedding date, I did not think beyond I want a fall wedding, and my favorite holiday is Halloween.  It seemed like a great combination....and it is!  I didn't think about the future with how busy this time of year would be with Halloween activities, football, school stuff and costume prep!  All of that stuff is just the icing on a pretty perfect cake though.

21 Years later.....

With all that I am, and all that I have, I thank God for his many blessings in my life.  The biggest one by far is the blessing of a truly great man to be my husband and father to our children.
It has been an awesome whirlwind!

One awesome weekend (a photo heavy post)

The kids attended trunk or treat with Aunt  Amy.  They didn't have many cars show up, but they had so much fun anyhow!
Mallory was home for the weekend, she is always, always up for making a mess!
I was thrilled that it was so warm we could make the mess outside on the deck.  We had to move the pumpkins around back because Flashy first ate the stems off and then kept pushing them off the front steps.  I guess he doesn't like his area to be festive!
Quincy was excited because I let her use a butcher knife.  She lived to tell about it too!
Today was my nephew's birthday party.  He had an awesome party complete with a taco bar and a bouncy house.  How could life get better than that?
With cake...of course!

And a piñata.  Pretty sure that Clayton is their hero today!
This evening, Preston had a flag football game.  He had an awesome night, including a couple touchdowns, 2 interceptions and a pick 6. He was over the top excited!
I love weekends.   I wish they lasted more than 2 days per week!
