Sunday photo dump

I took this photo of Harper and Saige a couple of weeks ago.  I love how Harper watches out for her baby sister
Today Saige wasn't feeling well.   She had a low fever and spent most of the afternoon either fussing or sleeping. By this evening, she is still a bit of a grouch but at least she is upright.  Motrin is a miracle maker!

We don't need a weed wacker because we have these awesome weed eaters!  I wish I could trust them to stay out of my garden because I would love to let them mow the entire yard!   Instead they have to be staked out strategically!   The kids have been doing a good job of working with them and they are very tame!  They also do a good job of taking turns checking on them and bringing them water while they are staked out.

The kids and I planted several types of bushes this week, some of which were a gift to Jim from a man in the city.  If we can keep the goats away, we hope to someday be eating raspberries, blackberries and pink lemonade blueberries.  While some may think of this as healthy eating, my children were dreaming up how many flavors of ice cream toppings we can make!  I figure if it motivates them to get the work done, there is no harm in working for ice cream!
Harper had a t ball game yesterday morning.  I love this photo of her going to the game with her 'coach'!

I am always amazed by how weird Adolf is. The cat truly puts up with torture from his friends, and never skips an opportunity to take a ride in a laundry basket!
That's about all I know for this weekend, except that once again days off have gone by too quickly!

Colin is 16!!

Today is Colin's 16th birthday.   He spent his day at wrestling camp.  He said it was a good day!  He also pointed out (several times) that his drivers license is now a lesser restricted license allowing him much more freedom.  In the eyes of the state that may be true....in the eyes of his parents- well that remains to be seen!   Anyhow Colin is growing up into a very responsible, great kid.  His hobbies keep is all busy and if the family ever decided eating fish was a good idea he would keep us all fed!  Happy birthday bud....we love you!

Knights of Columbus party

We had an awesome time at the Knights of Columbus swimming party this evening.  And it ended just in the nick of time as a huge storm blew in!   The kids had a great time swimming and making new friends!

Sweet 16 the 'supryze'

Io

When Colin was gone on his trip, Cameron had a brilliant idea to throw him a surprise birthday party for his 16th birthday.  We were told by Cameron that all we had to do was be the chaperones and provide food.  He conned grandma into making cake, he made me a grocery list, he had a theme, he cleaned the house.   The one thing he forgot to do was invite  Colin's friends.   And so, midday, I called up some cousins and we had ourselves some guests (thank God for family!).
Colin was exceptionally suprised and happy that we made food!  I think it was a fun time!

Just a few baseball pics

Cameron and Colin had a double header last night.  I failed to get any photos of Colin, but it always amazes me how Cameron can squat, jump, catch, dive, and hustle at the catcher position.  He is really good at what he does back behind the plate!  It wears me out watching him!

Preston played last night as well.  He got to start the game as pitcher and he struck out a batter!   He is doing extremely well for never having pitched before.  I didn't get many good photos.  Baseball season rolls on!
