Maybe not enough room for all activities

Colin loves his shop class at school.  He made a very nice coffee table and entertainment center this year.   And then he decided to make something fun for himself.   Stilts.

The stilts have been banished to outside of the house.   ;)

Quincy's First Communion

We were very proud of Quincy today as she made her First Communion.   She did a great job!
We are also super impressed with her dress which her Godmother Grace made out of my mother's wedding dress.   We think it turned out beautiful!   Thanks aunt  Grace!

So much room for activities

One of the kids favorite movies is 'Step Brothers'. Yes I know it isn't appropriate for children.   One of the most quoted lines from the movie around our house is when they decide to make their own bunk beds so they can have so much room for activities.   This week my kids have said that quote a million times!   Especially since we have no living room furniture right now!   Hoping that will be fixed this afternoon!   Some have suggested we not unpack anything else to keep this open feel!   Sooner or later I figure they will miss their stuff!

It has been a busy week besides trying to unpack.  We have had a plethora of appointments including one for Saige who has double ear infections.  I feel like I haven't had much time to do anything but run.  I hope next week will be slower!

If I am dreaming please don't wake me

God is good, and dreams do come true!   Jim and I officially purchased our dream home on Monday!  We have a few projects to do but overall we could not ask for a nicer place to raise our kids!

And to begin our careers as "farmers" we purchased a rainbow variety of chickens today.   Harper had fun picking them out!
We will have to do updates on their progress!   In the meantime Harper named some of them. She picked out stately names such as Claudine, Elmo chicken, Isabella and Jack.   Saige claimed one chicken and named her Madison.  Then the chicken looked at her and she dropped it and proclaimed 'it bite me'.  Saige may not be as on board with the farming idea as the other kids!

Easter weekend.

We have had a fun weekend.  The kids have been swimming, played at Gage park, fed the geese, went appliance and lawnmower shopping,  and hung out for an awesome Easter dinner and egg hunt at grandma's house after church.  The thing I have always said about kids thinking they are on vacation if you just sleep in a hotel is true!
We are all more than ready to close tomorrow and get moved into our new home!   We are feeling very blessed this Easter!

Good Friday

It has been a whirlwind of a week.  We have been waiting for days for final approval on our loan.   We knew that we had to be out of our current house by 10 am on Good Friday morning and we were originally supposed to close on our new house at that time as well.  But...the loan got delayed.  We had to beg the sellers for an extension which they mercifully gave to us.   We have been stashing our belongings everywhere. We have things in storage lockers, Jim's maintenance man's yard, my parents garage and my sister's garage and we rented a uhaul truck too.   I hope we can remember where we stashed it all!!

The sale of our house went well and we decided that a hotel would give us a all break and allow the kids a mini vacation. We found out late today that our loan has been fully approved and our realtor (who we adore and recommend highly) managed to get us in on Monday afternoon for our closing.   I don't remember the last time I was so excited about anything!   Keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well and that this temporary stint of homelessness will be a distant memory!

Someday if you want a good story of how God is good, patient and merciful let me know.  We have watched as every obstacle was moved for us.   On this Good Friday I can truly say that God is alive and still in the business of making miracles happen!
