Wrestling season is upon us!

I can't tell you how much I enjoyed watching Colin's first meet of the season. He is wrestling varsity 138 pounds.  This is going to be a great season.   They have a great team, great parents and an awesome coach who we think is wonderful. 

The first meet was a double dual against Jeff West and Holton.  Colin won his first match in points against Jeff West.  

He lost his second match to a kid from Holton.  It was still a good fight!  Since Holton was the home team, when you wrestled them it was under a spotlight.  That was different!  

Tuba Christmas.

Cameron spent his day at tuba Christmas.  He said hearing 500 kids from around the state playing Christmas music together was awesome.  

Happy 15th birthday Cameron!

Today is Cameron's 15th birthday!  He was pretty excited because he got to have a day out of school while attending tuba Christmas at the Kaufman center.  He said it was great!  

Cameron is that kid who never says no to trying new things.  He makes friends easily (including in the line at the store). He is a busy kid who desperately need to pass his driving test so that he can help me with driving himself to some places!  I am proud of him for all of the things he takes on and does so successfully.  We are proud to have him in our family!   Happy birthday Cam!  We love you.

Busy or bust

Every single Friday, I get excited about having a weekend.  I get these delusional ideas of how I am going to catch up around the house, hang out with the kids and Jim, maybe watch a movie, and most of all, just relax.  After 5999 Fridays, you would think I would learn that weekends are for being busy!  Truly, I don't mind.  I actually enjoy the chaos.  And we know how to do chaos well!  In addition to ball games and birthday parties, this weekend proved to be a lot of fun as well.  

Cameron's band played at the Carbondale Christmas.  It was fun to listen to them as always!  

The goats were part of a live nativity at a church in Overbrook.  They didn't seem to be interested in being on display with a baby pretending to be Jesus though, and  Quincy and I ended up having to chase them down!  They ended up tied in the stable!  

Mallory and Madison are studying for finals this week.  Mallory decided that she needed a break.  She loves decorating for Christmas!   We are a little bit earlier than usual, but the kids had fun, and are now officially ready for Christmas here at our house!  

I will not even have any thought about resting next weekend, it is even crazier! 

Quinceanera

For Cameron's 15th birthday, he decided to throw himself a quinceanera. Yes, he does know it is a coming of age party celebrated by Hispanic girls.  And yes, he does know he is neither Hispanic nor a girl.  He told me it is a 15 year old's dream party and he was not going to let his ethnicity or sex determine whether or not he had an awesome party!  Luckily, Cameron has wonderfully understanding friends! 

And so, with his friends here, Cameron had a taco and nacho bar and a piñata. And now, being teenaged boys, they are very loudly playing cards (probably for money) in our basement.  

His sisters were pleased with his choices.....everyone loves a piñata right?

Last night Cameron played in his first freshman game it was a good game but he didn't see as much playing time as he wanted to.  Cam is number 00.  Luckily, there are a lot more games where that one came from!  

This morning, Quincy's charming chick team had a volleyball game.  

Quincy played well, but told me volleyball is by far not her favorite thing.  

4-H Christmas party

The 4-H Christmas party was a lot of fun.  Good food, good conversations and a fun dance.  

And watching Colin help Saige do the hokey pokey was about as sweet as it gets!
