A fun Saturday

After Preston's game, we came home to a project that we have been needing to do for a few weeks now.  Right before the fair, our outside hydrant started leaking.
Nothing makes Quincy happier than getting to help with a project where she is allowed to get dirty!
Nothing amuses me more than the fact that every time we do a project, Curley the wonder goat is there to help!
I have mentioned the dad who takes amazing sports photos.  Well, he's back! These were too good not to save on here.  They are a much better job than my photography!
This evening, I took the 3 little girls to the Huff n Puff balloon rally.  We had a great time.  We watched the launch and then we stayed around for the light show.
We watched them blow up balloons and heat the air.  We also watched them come back from a chase.
The girls asked so many questions!  We will be looking up some of the answers this week because I simply don't know that much about how the balloons work.  They were able to ask some questions to the balloon crews, but they had a lot on their minds!
It was a fun event that we really enjoyed.

Preston's first game

Preston had his first tackle football game this morning.  We were up early and he was pumped and ready to play!
His team did pretty well, but they did not win.
These last 2 photos are of Preston. And the only thing I have to say is this little kid is fearless!
It was a fun morning!

Week 2.

Tonight's game was the home opener.  The mom's hosted a tail gate party and it was a lot of fun.  The team played central heights.
It was Cameron's first time as the Thundertaker.  He had been practicing and is pretty excited about getting to be the mascot for football season.
The boys won big tonight!  Final 55-6.
The marching band sounded awesome as well!
It's a great day to be a charger!

Random Labor Day photo dumping

We had a great (although not long enough) Labor Day weekend. Since we have had colds and been feeling blah we mostly just hung out at home.  We got a few projects done (mostly because of Jim) and watched some movies.  The big kids all worked all weekend.
It was nice to have a couple of days of down time.
We are thankful and blessed.

Fishin' in the dark

Jim had made a promise that they could go fishing this weekend.  Despite most of us having head colds, he told the kids they would still go "after it cooled down outside".  Since our air conditioner is broken it is easy to tell when that is!  The kids were very excited about going night fishing!
Jim and the 4 littles took off and I told him I would come and get Harper and Saige in about an hour, since it was late when they left. When I arrived, Saige had just pulled out a "great big one!"   She wanted me to see it but she did NOT want to touch it!
They all had a great time!   They also all caught some fish!  The two are directly related!

Kick off 2015

Colin (#53) and the Santa Fe Trail Chargers kicked off their season last night at Iola.  It was a great night for football.  Not cold!
I was excited to watch Colin kick off his senior season.  Not as excited as his dad was though.
And Colin did not disappoint!  He had a great game!   And so did the rest of the team.   They won 41-13.
And why not....after all they had a super duper cheering section including this blue person!  I am pretty sure the blue person leading certain cheers that were not necessarily ones the school approved was what pumped the team up to win!
