Football tournament

Preston had a football tournament today. It was the last weekend of football.   His team had to play the Renegades for the 3rd time this season.
They played so well.  Probably the best I have ever seen them play.  Preston sacked the quarterback (but was called for a horse collar so it was flagged).  He also caught a touchdown pass in the end zone.  His team lost by just a couple of points.
It was a good season!   I enjoyed watching them grow and get better each week!

Preston's bday party and a few shots from this week

Preston had the bff's out for a fire, junk food, and a slumber party. Honestly, these 5 boys are inseparable, hilarious, and pretty well behaved.  I never mind having them around.
They are also really good about including the little girls in their antics.
The neighbor's huge dog has been hanging out over here.  It doesn't bother us too much, but he eats every bit of food we set out.  Blitz was pretty excited when Harper dropped her hotdog!  We have been bringing Blitz inside to feed her.  She likes people food best!
Guess who got pink hair spray and couldn't wait for Halloween to use it?
We are oh so close to being done with inspections.  Being out in the chilly weather makes me come home and cook soups though!
Grandma, Mallory and Amy went to JCCC today and bought goodies from Madison.  I hear she was very professional and gave them a small tour too!   The Mexican wedding cookies are my favorite.  The carrot cake and cream horns are close contenders for second place!  Honestly, it is all amazing!
SFT won their game tonight. The students had a white out night.  When Cameron left, I had no idea this would mean spraying each other with clouds of baby powder!

Birthday boy

Today is Preston's 12th birthday!  Honestly, since this boy was born time has sped by at an alarming rate.  His birth was a huge blessing to our family!  Preston is often described as wise beyond his years, and an old soul.  Sometimes his insight is truly amazing.  We are a lucky family to have him!
All Preston asked for was Casey's pizza and chocolate cake.  Whereas Preston is about as easy going, rule following and mellow as any kid can be, his eating habits are horrendous.  Vegetables?  Never!  Fruits?  Maybe.  Anything that seems healthy? Not happening.  He likes pizza, and hot dogs. Recently, as we were discussing him moving away to college he told me he feels like he could spend about 15 dollars a week on groceries.  With a straight face he told me he would order one small pizza, buy a box of top ramen, and some cereal and he'd be all set!  I believe he would do it!
I do love this kid!   Happy birthday Preston!  I hope you have many more!

Birthday -an extended version

It has been a week of absolute craziness here.  There is nothing I can do about the amount of business that goes on, but sometimes I see there is great beauty around me and it gives me a moment of peace that I savor.  I have been doing inspections at work.  Days of tramping around on dams checking for erosion, signs of abuse or misuse, damage, and whatever other maintenance issues doesn't sound very fun.  And honestly, it isn't.  Except that it is always done in the fall, the weather always seems to be exceptional, the current maintenance man is not only extremely competent, but enjoyable to visit with, and 2/3 of the inspectors are fun to hang out with.  I actually enjoy it!  Not to mention, we buy inspection lunches so I get a day out and free lunch too!  What's not to love there? The scenery is stunning as well!
After a day of dam tramping, I have to say that I enjoyed an evening sunset while sitting on my rump waiting for Preston's practice to let out!
Friday was my birthday.  Jim took me out for a nice lunch, the kids made me some cards, and I got new socks!  I also managed to drive the bus without any incidents!
My little bus buddy and I took a birthday selfie while waiting for kids to get out of school!
On Thursday, Cameron asked me if I owned a genie costume.  Wait....what did you just say boy?  Ha.  We talked about what he would need and he had to make a wallymart run.  When I questioned why on earth he needed a genie costume he responded with "top secret!"   I received a text telling me to be sure to come watch the halftime show at the game!
The band did a great job, they played Disney songs.  At one point, a lamp was rubbed, smoke billowed out, and Cameron who was dressed as a genie popped out, did a cartwheel and a crazy dance.  It was pretty cool!  The crowd loved it and everywhere I went today people were laughing about it.
I worked at the tuba toss booth again.   Landrie won a 2 liter and the girls had a little tea party!  Obviously they weren't very into watching the game!
This morning, Preston had a game.  He played well, but they didn't win.
He did have a nice fan club there!
After the game, we ran a lot of errands, and then we attended a wedding for some friends.
I had pretty cute wedding dates!  The wedding was lots of fun and the kids had a great time in the bouncy house, and playing with friends.
After a couple of wild days, they were all crashed out before 9!
