We had a good weekend. Would have been better if we were able to snuggle the little buddy, but that wasn't in the cards. We did get some Valentine's Day pictures! He is growing up already! And so stinkin' cute I can hardly stand it! We must go to Wichita - and soon!

We did manage to keep the girls entertained until their parents returned from Vegas. How you ask? OK you didn't ask....but I am going to tell you anyway! I planned a whole bunch of crazy Valentine's day stuff. We had heart shaped waffles, and heart shaped eggs (egg cup recipe cooked in the heart shaped cupcake pans). Hindsight - pink eggs are NOT very appetizing! The girls were tickled about the effort though. I knew that heart shaped waffle make would come in handy someday!

And for lunch - GG came over and distracted them for a while. We had hearts and roses for lunch - GG made pepperoni roses, and we had heart shaped sandwiches, heart shaped jello jigglers, and heart shaped brownies.
Poppy and Wrenley gave it their stamp of approval!
GG - thank you for adding to our Valentine's day lunch, and for distracting the girls for a while! I appreciate it!
Also, there were crafts. Some of which are still drying! :) Hey - we like to use all the craft supplies!
My sweet littlest Valentine! I am so glad that his outfit fit him! Sweet boy - and he looks good in red too!
When I get pictures, and when I hold Easton, I think he looks like Spencer. Once in a while though, I see a little bit of Colin shining through!
Story time - Madison told the girls that on Valentine's Day, Cupid comes and brings you stuff. Now, I will not comment on the insanity of that statement, because I don't tell people how to raise their kids. She told me that a walmart delivery order would be at the house at 10:00 from "Cupid." At 6 am - 6! AM! I hear the girls talking. I ignored it for a few minutes because ---HELLO GIRLS IT IS SATURDAY!! No dice. So I got up to find them being extremely sad. Why? Because they got up early to "find the clues." What? Clues? What are you talking about? Somehow they had determined that Cupid leaves scavenger hunt clues and then you use those clues to get prizes from Cupid. Say what now? Who told you that? Deflated, defeated sad little faces staring at me. So I did what I do best - it is 6:15 on a Saturday morning - I improvise. I told them that Cupid has a terrible drinking problem and that he is probably hung over and running late as usual. And then I gave them the Valentine's Day gifts that I had for them. They played with their new toys and colored with their new crayons while I texted Madison to scold her for not adequately preparing me. Madison texted back - who the hell told them that? Not me! And reminded me that there would be a delivery at 10:00.
Enter pink, heart shaped foods.
At 10:00 I get a text from Madison that the delivery was made (she was alerted). I was in the basement and headed upstairs to try to figure out how to make it look like some fat-a$$ baby in a diaper with a bow and arrow had delivered this stuff in a walmart sack 4 hours late. That is when Harper came running down the stairs to tell me that Maude had grabbed the Cupid sack and run down the driveway, but she had managed to get it away from her (thank God for Harper). And then Harper told the girls "look! Maude solved the clues and found the gifts from Cupid!" they were so busy thanking Maude and squealing over stuffed panda bears that they were no longer upset over the delay, and the day was saved. Good job Maude!!! Also, that was a little too close to a complete tragedy for a couple of stuffed bears. Good think Maude knew they were not hers and tried to make a run for it before she tore the literal stuffing out of them!
I love these grandkids of mind dearly, but cupid is over the top, even for me. :)
Wren had to go to work with me. Did I bribe her with snacks and drinks from Casey's? Absolutely! Did she still manage to completely trash my office? !00%. Did she blame Poppy when I asked her who made the mess? YES!
Aunt Mallory came out and ran them around the yard and took them on long walks, because Jim and I discovered that we are not used to having a 2 year old around, and entertaining 2 kids who need help and reminders is exhausting! We made it through and I am thankful for the time we got to spend with the girls!
And we did take Wrenley to TJ's just because we used to do that with Evie a lot, but hadn't really had much opportunity to take Wren. She gobbled down half a bottle of ketchup!
And also - my grandkids are the cutest!
Now back to work I guess.....
