Happy Halloween!

We had a most excellent Halloween!  Good friends, good weather, good hauls.

Photos

Senior night was admittedly a little tough on the moms.  Our little guys have grown up together and really are like family.
It may have been wet and miserable, but to watch these guys play together as a team after a season of some disappointing times was awesome.
The last couple of weeks they seem like they have played with more determination and acted like the team they are.  It has been fun to see.
They are district champions for the second year in a row!  I am so proud!
All the moms were pulling out photos for senior night. Someone shared this one.  These boys have literally grown up together as great friends.  They have celebrated every milestone along the way. It is what Jim and I wanted for our kids, to grow up in a small community with people who really get to know you.  I couldn't be happier with how it works. I am proud of all these kids.  I can't wait to hear about all the success stories they are bound to have.

22 years and oh! The romance.

Well today is our 22nd anniversary and we know how to spend it right!  At a rainy, cold, miserably wet football game!  See this shirt?  I bought it along with the other senior moms for senior night on the Trail.   It's pretty.  It has sparkles.  I had to cover it with a rain poncho.  I wasn't amused.
And because of the rain, Mallory stayed home with the little kids, which meant I had to use the bolt man as my event photographer.  There were way more photos of the bolt than there were of the senior night festivities.
I am extremely proud of our senior.  I didn't even really mind the wet, coldness since he played so well and his team won. This makes them the district champions.
Bolt man was honored at halftime for making the honor roll.
I had to kind of laugh to Jim about the way we celebrate anniversaries.  Our first one was spent moving.  Our second one was spent moving. Football games seem to also be a running theme. I do love our chaos, even though it isn't romantic.  I am still the luckiest girl around!

Party day

Since there is no school tomorrow, the kids had their Halloween parties today.  Preston's school does not do a parade, they have a scavenger hunt instead.  Today was super hero day and so Preston  dressed as fish man.
Quincy and her bff dressed as chickens.  She may have used an entire bottle of tacky glue gettin her feathers to stick.
It was rather cold this morning but I think they all had a great time!  Saige enjoyed walking in the parade.
And conning her sister out of a cupcake.
Saige then helped Jim hand out candy at the Overbrook parade this afternoon.  She had a great time watching for Harper.
This is Harper's school principal and nurse.
Harper seemed like she was having fun.  I am glad because this morning, she had a little anxiety about the parade.  She does worry!
It was a fun day!

Deep thoughts. Or random Hope ones

Quincy is now the proud owner of 2 peacocks and 2 peahens.  We have them pinned up because we are afraid of them running off.  The plan is eventually to let them roam.  For now, she is just excited about the possibilities. We did have something tear the fence and get in with her chickens today.  The brown leghorns that we bought at the chicken auction are now all missing.  I don't believe it was our dog.  I hope not. Our dog, while certainly interested in hearding critters, had never killed any that we know of. It was an upsetting discovery after school.
Harper's class had a little graduation from ABC camp.  She was pretty tickled with her certificate.  We have had parent teacher conferences this week.  Harper is doing very well in kindergarten!  The other kids got good reports as well.

Last week, I had an eye doctor appoinent.  They found a spot on my right eye.  They are not sure what it is, but were concerned about it being melanoma. I will now need to see a specialist to make sure.  I was a little worried my eyes "would get stuck like this".   My doctor is a very thorough man. He said he was almost sure it was nothing to worry about and is more just sending me as a precautionary measure.
Sticker paws is a nice kitty.  I am trying really hard to like her.  She would just be so much easier to like if she would learn to use the litter box.
On Sunday, my friend Grace came to visit.   I took some photos of the fall art she brought me but failed to take photos of us together.  I had a great time visiting with her and the boys.   It had been way too long since we had seen each other.  I feel bad that their car broke down on the way home though.
Preston thought his student council shirt was pretty clever.
I truly enjoy being out in the field.  It gives me a great overview of how things are going, and allows me to really see things that I try hard to manage the rest of the year.  I also find visiting with the maintenance man and the inspectors enjoyable. I am glad that we are finished for this year though.  I was so cold out there today and I know it isn't getting warmer from here on!
These two were pretty happy that I got cold walking on dams though, because I cooked up some potato soup and monkey bread.  You know, warm up food.
I had to tell Colin even if he licks it, I want a piece!
