Is it a coincidence that Naughty and Maude rhyme? What about Maude and potty?
She is a hand full. She is a very sweet girl, and thankfully, one of the cutest things I have ever laid eyes on, but man oh man she gives me a run for my money on the daily!
Maybe I am too old to train a puppy?
Maybe the border collies being so dang smart spoiled me?
Maybe I am not firm enough with her?
Naaaa - she's just a baby!
I am highly amused by this dog. She steals stuff away from the bigger dogs - like poor Olive's stick! Like poor Olive's ball. Like Carlos's snacks.
Carlos has resorted to taking his snacks directly to the back of the couch where she can't reach!
And she plays the victim just like a baby sister should. I have now witnessed on multiple occasions where the cat bapped her with his foot and she cries and whines like she was hit with a wrecking ball. Ollie put his foot on her - Jim actually came outside to see if she was being attacked by a pack of wolverines or something. BIG, BIG whiner!
She does have some redeeming qualities. She loves the cat. They play together all the time, which gives our old cat, Marge a break.
She does now seem to be kennel trained. Fully house broken - absolutely not, but kennel trained is a step in the right direction. She also sleeps in a smaller kennel in Harper's room - and doesn't make messes in the night now. She sleeps soundly in that basement dungeon. Progress is being made, even though it is slow.
She also follows us everywhere, and likes to snuggle and take a nap at my feet. I am so glad we added her to the family!
We are going to have to watch her next winter though - as every time she takes a drink her ears fall in the water bowl. I am already thinking we will need to dry her ears before we send her outside when it is cold!
Know who is cuter than a puppy? But just as ornery?
My little bus boss! All of the sudden, I am noticing she doesn't look much like a baby any more.
