Stay at home Saturday

I said we had nothing going on this weekend except for working at a car show on Sunday for a couple of hours.  I said I was going to clean my house, work on the garden,  close up the pool, and decorate for Halloween.
I lied. I did not do a single solitary thing on that list.
I slept in. I never set foot in the garden (although. I did weed the raised beds).  The pool is sitting out there filling with leaves, and the Halloween decor is still in the basement.  But I did have a nice day anyway.
Last night Colin came up to help Gavin with some lighting projects in his yard and barn.  Cameron came to the ballgame, and then went over to help as well.  Cameron was an event photographer and sent me these pictures as proof that when they were done, the lights did work!

Quincy, Harper and Saige cleaned.  I did clean the bathroom, but they did all the rest.  I appreciated their help.
I did take Sparky the kitten back to her owner.  They were happy to get her back.  I admit to having happiness at less things to remember to take care of currently.

I also delivered some plants to my office, and since I was actually in town on a Saturday, I went in to the little flea market store that is only open on Saturday.  It is good that most of the time when I am in town they are closed, because I would buy a lot more stuff in there.  It’s a fun little store with tons of junk.  Nothing you really need, but for some reason all the things I really want!   Crafts, eclectic dishes, vintage Christmas decor, basic  junk.  And it is cheap!   I was able to get some glass plates to put under some plants at my office and I bought a fall wreath from my friend Linda who sells her crafts in there.  Jim helped me hang it and I love it!

I also attended an estate sale for a couple from our church.  I found this amazingly cool wooden bowl. I have yet to figure out what I am going to do with it, but for some reason I needed it.

When I got back from running my errands (puttzing around), Colin was here. He hung out for a while and then told us he was going to wrestle in Burlingame.  Never ones to miss out on a wrestling tournament, Jim and I decided to go watch him.

This is Colin’s friend, Cal.  Cal is a wrestling coach, and his team was hosting an outside, carnival type wrestling tournament. They called it the Main Street Showdown. They had mats set up in the middle of the brick downtown street, food trucks and vendors. They had about 150 kids wrestling. They also had some exhibition matches, and Cal invited Colin to wrestle against him.  Of course, Cal’s wrestling kids loved this!
These two wrestled together for years!  They were sparring partners as they were always close in weight classes.  It was like old times watching them.  Both going hard but yet actually just playing and having fun.

I know these two men will always be wrestling kids at heart.

But I think they learned that it isn’t as easy as it used to be!
Colin started wrestling when he was about 9 years old.  He fell in love with the sport, and he fell hard.  When he graduated and then went to college to wrestle, we were happy that we could continue to watch him. Even now, as an adult you can tell that he loves the sport.  He was encouraging the kids, smack talking them about their coach, and seemed to be totally in his element.  I’m glad I went along, . It was a fun event.
I definitely didn’t accomplish my to do list today.  I’m definitely not sorry either!
