Sunday is still my fav

Maude got caught in the rain.  She was out helping Jim move branches.  She already smells bad....wet smelly girl!
Doesn't stop Harper from loving her.  She really is the sweetest girl!

Jim got me a purple mum to offset all the yellow.  I tried to center it, but true to the way things go around here, I hit rock.  I hope it will fill out and fill in the space, but if not, it isn't the only thing around here that is a bit lopsided....

Planting all perinneals is my goal down there, so that at some point, I will only have to weed, not plant more stuff.  It is working fairly well I think.  I like how it looks.  I also know that I have seen half a dozen rattle snakes around on the roads, so it is the time of year that they are moving back into their winter dens.  I am only working down there in the broad daylight, and only after I check around with a hoe!  Safety first!  Generally, rattle snakes around here are timber rattlers.  Most of them seem to be old, slow moving and fairly docile.  That doesn't mean they won't strike, but they do tend to give you plenty of warning first.  I don't mind them, they are still better neighbors than a lot of people I know!

With the events of the last few weeks, Jim and I have decided it is time to get our "affairs in order."  We have purchased a plot, and as such, I had to make a couple of markers for it.  I was told to make them out of concrete in an ice cream bucket.  I had a lot of quickcrete, so the girls all made some stepping stones on paper plates.  We will dump them out later in the week.  This was a fun project, and we had fun doing it.  Getting our affairs in order is not as much fun, but it feels like a necessary part of life at this point.

I love Sunday dinner, doing crafts, swimming, eating together and just having a little time to catch up on things.  The boys sometimes join us, but not always.  I am cooking anyway, might as well come have out and eat!

This time of the year, every time we climb in the pool I wonder if it will be the last time for the season.  I always hate closing the pool, because I actually really do use it.  It is a lot of work, but it is enjoyable work.  The girls love swimming, and we had a good time cooling off.  I am glad we swam before dinner, as after dinner, storms blew up and we would not have been able to get it done!

Jim and his fraternity brothers have started getting together once a month for bbq food.  He had a lot of fun visiting and catching up with all of them.  I am glad he is going to this.  Old friends are amazing!  This is Jim with his pledge son, JP.  They may not be as young as they once were, but they are still just as immature.  :)  Ok, maybe not quite as immature, but still!

Mallory helped me move some flowers around at the fairgrounds.  We took a bucket of leftover/overage plants out to Grandma.  Mall took this cool photo in Grandma's flower bed.  My mom's flowers look amazing.  She has put a ton of work into them.

This weekend is Olive's birthday.  Mallory made pupcups to share with the other dogs.  Carlos was saving his on the couch, but then Maude ate it and caused a small fiasco.  Anyway, Happy Birthday Olive.  I am glad you are in the family, so I can watch you grow up and be a hot mess.

Madison drove volleyball yesterday.  Andrew took the girls fishing.  He took these cute photos.
He has so much patience and desire for the girls to love fishing.  I am proud of the dad that he is.

Cameron's corporate adventure team.  He said they walked over 8 miles yesterday.  I am glad that I turned down being on his team....I think that might have been more walking that I want to do!

I am not ready to start a new week, but I do feel somewhat rested, and a little less drained.  I am praying for good, easiness, peace and love this week.
