Goals met!

A couple of weeks ago, my mom bought me some asparagus roots.  We have a small patch and I was wanting to enlarge it.  I am happy and proud to say I did not kill her gift!  Baby asparagus plants are everywhere I put them!  Thanks mom!

Thanks for these adorable photos Spencer!

Evelyn had a ball game tonight.  Unfortunately, , we did not get home in time to go.  Mallory said she tried really hard and that her team did not win.

Where was I when it was time to go to the ballpark?   Coming home from a grand adventure!
Today was the day to take the chickens to be processed.  Our lady lives down by Parsons.  For those who may not be keeping up, Jim has been working for about a month in McCune Kansas. Which is also down by Parsons.  So he graciously agreed to take the chickens and drop them off.   Harper   and I were going to wait a couple of hours and then go down and pick them up so that he could go on to work and we wouldn’t have to wait as long. It was a brilliant plan.  Until it wasn’t.  We waited the 2 hours and then took off. We got about an hour into the trip when Jim called to say that they would be later due to them processing a couple of smaller orders in the morning.  But it was sort of too late to turn around.  So we just went on to Parsons. Now I don’t know much about Parsons, but it has some stores and some places to eat so we decided we could easily kill a couple of hours.  We  stopped a couple of places when Anna called.  I thought oh good!  She got done early!   I don’t get paid to think.  She was calling to say it would be 3 before she got finished.  It was 11:00 am.  We had to kill 4 whole hours?   But something occurred to me in that moment.  I don’t get days with just one of my kids very often.  I get even less days where I am off work, don’t have a million things going on and can just play around.  So I decided to make the most of it.  Harper and I went out to lunch at a nice Italian place.  We took photos beside a haunted wedding castle, We went to all the antique stores and Knick knack shops.  We went into a witch store with crystals and smudge sticks and all sorts of interesting concoctions.  We went out for milkshakes.  And I am not one bit sorry about it.  It was a nice day.  Long.  But nice.

We got the chickens picked up, iced down and hauled home.  Freezer full of meat always makes me happy.

Little big man is starting to sit up on his own!  He’s growing up way too fast!

Quincy has been looking for a better car.  She is planning to move out next month, and go back to school so she was wanting something a little more reliable.  We have been lightly searching,  but not really finding anything.   Last week, my friends Gary and Shirley stopped in my office and asked me if I knew anyone looking  for a great deal on a nice car.  Honestly, I always know someone looking for a great deal on a nice car!. So Quincy went over and drove it,  and fell  in love.  New car - accomplished.  Fingers crossed it’s a good/safe ride for her.
