Tournament week

Cameron sent me this cute photo on their way home from western Kansas.  I guess there was a carnival along the way.  I am sure he had to stop to get carnival food.  Or something.  It sounds like, after meeting her family, they are still together, so I guess that is a good sign.  And nobody broke any legs or had any other trauma, so good work Cameron!
I did get a good chuckle out of Cameron facetiming me yesterday to tell me that he was awakened by someone sending a Mariachi band to his neighbor's house.  For some reason, that cracks me up.  I imagine it would be amusing for one day....if it happened again, I would be annoyed!  He said he enjoyed the music, and was finding the humor in it.
It sort of reminded me of when we lived in Osage City and the band kids would practice for the parade by marching around and around the block in the early morning.  My kids thought that they were putting on a show just for them!  I got a little sick of the Osage City Indian fight song after a couple of days!  :)

Evie had her first and last tournament game last night.  Her team lost their game, so they are done playing for this season.  She has come a long way, and I can see the improvement, and her confidence is a lot better.  She had a great hit too!  Their team does a lot of stuff right, they just need a little more time to get the basics down I think.

I like watching the kids play, but I am really never sad to see the season end.  I don't know how Madison feels about it, but I didn't see any tears being shed.  Saige has a couple of games left, so we are not completely out of the running phase of summer yet!

It was sort of funny, I was busy working in the garden yesterday.  I planted a row of okra and some watermelon.  I was in the zone and not really paying attention to time.  Harper reminded me that we should go watch Evelyn play.  I am glad she did!  I tend to get lost in garden world and lose all track of time.
