Saige's team ended up being the league champions, and as such, they got a first round bye in their tournament. It worked out well, that way we were able to catch Evie playing on Monday.
Saige's team won their game last night against Auburn Yellow, and will advance tonight to the championship game.
This is a fun team to watch. They mostly work well together, the coaching has been pretty upbeat and positive, the girls seem to be having fun, and they are pretty talented. I will be excited to see if they can pull off the tournament championship.
I couldn't help but flash back to the last time we had a tournament in Auburn. I believe it was Harper playing, but the coach of the Auburn team switched out pitchers after every batter (wasting time) and pulled a bunch of other shenanigans. I am happy to say that last night was much nicer than that!
Saige did a good job on second base, and got on base each time up (although the walks were high and I think she may be tying a season record with Quincy for being hit by pitch).
