pools and paradise

We have been spending a lot of time at the pool the past few days since despite our landlord working very hard, we don't have air conditioning yet.  It has not been that bad.  Not having air has given us a good opportunity to talk about the good old days when nobody had air conditioning, and about people all over the world who are a lot less fortunate and have no access to such a luxury.

I have made sure that the kids know that even though the house is hot, we are lucky to have access to cold showers, a pool pass and popsicles.  I hope that they will keep these conversations in mind and maybe learn a little appreciation when the house is cooler!

The 4-H hogs are definitely growing.   Boots (Colin's Poland China hog) got separated because he is so much bigger than the others.  He is not on a full blown diet, but he is going to be cutting back on his snacking!  :)

The others are getting big too it would seem.  They have it pretty good under a mister!

Also new this week, Cam joined the ranks of those playing summer ball.  It would seem a team had a shortage and he will be filling in on a permanent basis.  I think he had sort of regretted his decision to not play ball, so this worked out well for him.
