Goodbye Kristy and welcome back goats

Quincy bought this hog as her 4-H project way back in May.  She worked with him, named him Kristy HAMit after her school principal, spent countless hours taking care of him and loving him.  Despite all her work and dedication, the hog did not grow.  I thought maybe after the other hogs left in August for the fair, he would have no competition for food and would take off.
We have consulted the town vet, several pig farmers as well as worming him and giving him several shots.  Nothing seemed to help.  The pig was plateaued at about 90-100 pounds.
With winter knocking on the door, and not having a good place to keep him inside, we made a choice to give him to some people who take unwanted farm animals.  They were thankful and Quincy was happy to know he would not freeze to death this winter.
Also today we picked up these 3 girls from the breeder.  Early to mid March is going to be awesome around here!   I think they were happy to see me too!  I sure did miss them!
