Harper is really loving school. I am impressed with her teacher. She is sweet and fun. I love that Harper loves going to school.
Preston has been working hard practicing for band. He was 10th out of 20 trumpets in the 5th grade band and he wanted to move up. He knew he would have to practice. He had his playing test yesterday and he tied for first chair. I am very proud of him.
In other news, I mentioned back in October that my eye doctor had found a spot on my eye during a routine eye exam. Yesterday, I saw an eye specialist. She told me that she believes it is ocular melanoma. Basically skin cancer on my iris. The good news is that I have a very good eye doctor and it is a very small spot. The bad news....well it is cancer. There has never been anyone in the history of the world with a happy cancer diagnosis. Old school thinking was that you removed the eye to keep it from spreading to the brain. I was told that there are more progressive treatments than that now. I will be seeing a specialist at KU Medical center later in December. In the meantime, I vow to find joy in my days. It is something I am trying to always do in life. Tomorrow has never been promised anyway. If you are the praying type, our family could use a few right now. I will try to update as I know more.
Sweet friend, just catching up on your family. Praying for you and your appointments to come with your eye. I remind myself daily that I "know who holds tomorrow." Praying for you!
ReplyDeleteLoved catching up on your family as well, I have no idea how you get them everywhere they need to be all the time!
Wishing you a Merry Christmas as we count down the days to Christmas!
