Of all the crazy…

It’s the day before vacation - well not really “vacation” but the day before we leave for a couple of days to run to see Preston in Tulsa.  Of course, between leaving, needing supplies for that, needing clean laundry, having things that we need to take to Preston, and things here at the farm that need to be kept in fresh water, and the fact that it is budget time with upcoming hearings at work, I felt a bit on the overwhelmed side today.
So of course, everything I touched didn’t work as it should, broke, or I ran out of time to take care of it.
Quincy is staying home. She is more than capeable of taking care of the farm chores. She is knowledgeable in farm animal needs and what to watch for. But she is also working  a job and isn’t home continuously.  We were supposed to take the chickens for their date with fate, but I pushed it back a little bit. Which means we have big(ish) broilers who drink and eat a lot!  We have Mallory wanting to leave her dogs with ours. Which is fine, but they are the drinkenest dogs on earth. Extra water buckets had to be located so that everyone has enough water.  I wanted to mow a little. Lawnmower would not start (Jim did take care of some of  it). Wanted to make sure all the plants got watered well, because I don’t see, with everything else we are sticking Quincy with, that she will have lots of time for watering. Jim’s truck wouldn’t start (it needs a battery- which we knew).
I had a few emails I needed to respond to, and a couple other online things I was going to deal with while I was at work tonight at the liquor store, it was slammed.  Nothing life  shattering, but nothing getting crossed off my to do list either.

I did procure the drinks for the rehearsal dinner while I still have the employee discount!  Check one off for me.
Still feeling a bit overwhelmed, I was running through mental lists all the way home.

When I pulled in, this little bird landed on my door and sat there looking at me.  I felt strongly that it was telling me to slow down and breathe a little.
