Saige apparently likes to draw with markers. On her face. When she got in trouble she responded with "Quincy did it!" Not to be outdone Quincy yells "What? I don't even like makeup."
Luckily the 'makeup' was washable marker.
Quincy also had to get rid of Loudy the rooster this week, as he had gotten rather mean. She was a little relieved because he was not a nice rooster but she was also sad because he was a beautiful bird!
Harper had an eye doctor appointment this week. Her eyes have once again gotten a little bit worse. She is still having trouble with her distance vision. We are going to continue to monitor her and will adjust things as needed. One thing I am positive of, she has one of the best eye doctors in the area. I am confident in her ability to make Harper have the best possible care and prescriptions.
Also this week, we have had some sadness with Curley the bottle baby. A couple weeks ago, Preston put her in the pen by going over the fence. Her leg got caught and she has been limping ever since. I took her to the Overbrook vet, but he didn't have an X-ray machine and couldn't tell for sure what was going on. Today, she saw a different vet and we discovered that she has a break in her shoulder. They gave us several options, none of which were very good. We could feed her out and then eat her, we could leave it alone and hope the bad leg doesn't get infected, we could have her put to sleep, or we could have the leg amputated. Curley will always just be a pet goat, because having babies will be too stressful for her other joints.
Preston is devastated, feels bad, but has decided to proceed with having her leg amputated and keeping her as his sweet best friend. She should be able to live a relatively normal life in our yard with plenty of love. I am not sure how soon the surgery will be done. All we can do is hope for the best.
