Today was the day we had an appointment to take the broilers to Garnett. Quincy and I went along with grandma to catch, load, and unload chickens. We also spent a pretty good chunk of the day waiting for the chickens to be processed. There are some good things to see in Garnett! We enjoyed breakfast at the Prairie Belle, took in their cute city square, found the car wash, enjoyed Yoder's country store, and got an awesome bargain on some flip flops at Orschlin's! Not a bad way to kill a morning!
The chickens were not quite done when we thought, so we went around the corner to the Cedar Creek Reservoir and looked at that.
Quincy was fascinated with a huge dead copperhead. We were fairly glad he was already dead!
Quincy helped bag our chickens. The people at Anco poultry processing are some of the nicest people! I think if they offered Q a job, she would take it! We ended up with 50 broilers in the freezer! That is exciting to me! We had a fun, but long day! Thank you to grandma for doing the dirty work on this!
This evening, Harper and Saige had their first game at Appanoose. They played great! Their team even won! It was a good game, and this is going to be a fun little team to watch this summer!
Preston (and Jim) also had their first game this evening. They did not win, and luckily, they did not blame it on the adorable umpire!
