My 'baby' boy turned 8 years old today! I can hardly believe my eyes, as he is growing up so fast!
This was an especially exciting birthday for him, as it means he no longer has to ride in a booster seat! Preston is a funny, smart, kid who my friend Grace accurately describes as "an old man in a little kid body." He really is wise way beyond his years! He makes us laugh, makes us think, teaches us about generosity and kindness every day! We are truly blessed by him being in our family!
Preston just wanted a simple party this year, with a couple of his besties. They had a great night playing around a campfire (thank goodness the wind quit blowing) eating themselves silly, and having an ice cream cake (a huge hit with Harper and Quincy!).
Also this week, Colin's freshman team played their final game against Eudora. It was a heart breaker, and they lost by 2 in a hard fought game that ended up in overtime. Colin did a great job! There is only one more week in football season for him, and he says he is ready to wrestle, so he isn't sad to see football ending!
Besides that, it is too cold for sitting outside in the evenings now, particularly when we were under a wind advisory! Wrestling season = sitting inside! :)
