Labor Day - lovin' us a 3 day weekend!

Cause who doesn't love a 3 day weekend?   Even Blitz is thankful for the extra day!   We have had a busy, but fun one!
After what feels like years of watching football, we don't have any high schooler playing this year.  It was weird to stay home on a Friday evening!  We did not make the trip to watch the game, but Cameron did!  He had a great time with his friends.  A friend of mine sent this photo.  It took me a while to realize the photo is reversed and that they were not spelling out "liart". Which is good because I didn't know what type of message they were conveying.  We stayed home and visited with Colin and one of his his roommates.  It was fun to see them for a little while.  They had to go back early since the wrestling team was in a parade today.
On Friday, Harper had a note from her teacher.   She said she didn't do anything, except be a "regular kid."   Well I am still proud of her!
It was nice to have some time to relax and just enjoy a Friday night!
Saturday morning, Preston had his first football game.  Their team had a hard day.  They played as hard as they could though!
Preston is #07.  He said he had fun so that is a good thing.
After football, we "helped" grandma spend some gift cards she had.  Jim wanted his photo taken with this sign.  For those who know him, you will know this is "iron-ic."
Long weekends beg for grilled food.  Or this kid, who is on course to replace the grill master, begged for grilled food.  I lost track of which.
On Sunday, Quincy, Harper and I went to a poultry auction with our friends.  We had a great time!  Quincy was in heaven. We didn't spend as much money as last year, so Jim was also in heaven!
Prices were much better.  We ended up bringing home 5 Rhode Island whites, one production red, 6 black australops, and 5 baby guineas.  They are small pullets.  We will have a little time before any of them start laying!  The happiness the girls have over a few birds makes my heart smile.
While we were gone, Jim, Preston and Saige completed an expansion of the goat pen.  The goats are most appreciative.  I was thankful to Jim for distracting Saige because her and Harper desperately needed a day apart!
I need to find homes for a few kitties I think.  Sadly, little kitties don't seem to do well with the Owls we have around here.  They sure are cute though!  It was nice to have Mallory home this weekend too!
In addition to cleaning and laundry, we were serenaded by Preston, who has a playing test, and a goal of first chair this week!  Gotta love a free day!
