Harper: I am!
Harper had her first game last night at Burlingame. Harper has reached the age of double headers, so she has less nights at the ballpark, but long nights when she is there.
Her team lost both games last night. I feel like they made a lot of errors that you would make if you’re rusty. Considering that almost all of their practices got rained out, cancelled for graduation, or shortened due to field scheduling issues, I’d say they will get better with more experience playing together. The core of the team is the same as last year, but we have several new girls. Learning coach expectations, and cohesiveness of players will come. Junior high can also be a rough age, as sometimes listening skills seem to decline. Overall though, I think this will be a fun team to watch!
Harper played some right field, and had a good night at bat. She likes playing, and had fun so that is the important part. I’m happy we were able to get both games in, as there were storms bouncing all around us, but we lucked out and it stayed clear!
