Hog show day = a wet, muddy success!

It literally rained all day.  But it didn't stop the kids from getting their hogs ready to show last night.

And if you decide not to show a pig this year, then you play with your friends.  These 2 are getting a little big for pat-a-cake?
Preston tried really hard to do his own work, but this pig has kind of a nasty temperament, and the cool weather made him feel frisky.  He was not a well behaved pig!
Harper went through 3 outfits yesterday.  Wet, muddy, smelly, outfits.
The show was very successful.  All 3 kids did well in showmanship.
Mallory got reserve champion Chester White (we won't mention how many were in the class).
Colin got reserve champion Poland China.
And Preston had the champion Chester White.  If there was an award for the pig who started the most fights during a show, I am sure Preston would have had that wrapped up last night too.  A ring man finally stood beside him and helped him.  Preston's hog was also in the champion drive....he did not win, but that might have been because they had him smashed between boards for fighting every other pig in the arena!  Preston felt sort of bad, but it was truly not his fault!
The little guys had a fun time watching the show!

This is the reason that we had to come home to shower before the show started....a pickup game of football in the rain.  And I might add, these boys do not play touch football.  I never knew that you could add wrestling moves into a football game, but I saw it with my own eyes.  You might ask if I tried to stop it......well no it was raining!  :)
