There has been high drama among some of the mothers in our 4-H club. We have managed to avoid all of it, but yesterday I was thinking how sad. (And a few other thoughts). We may not have the supreme grand champion projects, but it hasn't stopped my kids from learning valuable lessons. Life lessons that will take them far. I am glad that my kids have had these experiences. All I can say is life is too short. So we are choosing to focus on the positives. Loving an animal. Hanging out with your family. Learning that to make money, you must work for it. Learning to be a good citizen. Congratulating the person who won. Being happy that the ribbon you got was one you earned.
Taking pride in something that you made, and having the memories of working with your grandma on your great grandma's sewing machine.
Helping a friend.
Being happy for the success of others.
Learning to say goodbye to something you love.
And mostly just having fun!
