Had a little phone call this week from Aunt Karen. Her cat had kittens and then was killed. She thought we could help. She said there were 3 babies. Their eyes are open, but they aren’t moving really well just yet. They are so cute. Of course, somehow between agreeing to help and going to pick up, the count went from 3 to 6. Also, between agreeing to help and the kittens arrival, I had to explain to Jim about our little guests. Aunt Karen would like to have them back when they are a little bigger.
They go about 2-3 hours between feedings. The girls have been taking turns and so far they are doing great!
The strangest thing happened after we brought them home. Our indoor cat, Boomer has decided they are her babies. Of course, she’s been fixed and has no milk, but she has been laying with them, cleaning them and basically does all the care except feedings. I’m so thankful! She is a good momma cat!
We have been staying busy with lots of projects. The kids were all overjoyed to get a few hours with Evelyn this week! She is really growing up fast. She says lots of words now, and is super fast! We all get a huge kick out of her. She is a blessing and a bright spot to our lives.
We have been taking breaks in our projects and work to learn to cook. Harper is really getting proficient in the kitchen. She made puppy chow this week. Yesterday, we learned that our league has cancelled summer ball. Harper was the only one who wanted to play, and she was disappointed, but not really surprised at this point. The governor has rolled back some of the restrictions, but we are closely monitoring the situation and still staying close to home as much as we can.
