In the last 24 hours in Kansas, we have had 60 degrees, thunderstorms, rain, ice, a blizzard with 70 mph winds, and back to sunshine. I have lived here my entire life, and I still am surprised by what goes on. These 2 photos were taken a few hours apart. The upper one when I was coming home yesterday around 5, and the lower one at 6:40 this morning. At 5 am, the bus boss texted to say we were having school, and that the roads "are not that bad." Now, I am not one who thinks you should call your boss a liar, but I did ask him where the heck he drove to determine the road conditions, as my roads were all "that bad." He snorted at me. Thankfully, the sun is out and everything is melting currently. I did not enjoy this morning at all! Afternoon roads should be much better.
I was so wrapped up in my own brain that I forgot it was Ash Wednesday. Jim brought me a breakfast sandwich - which I sincerely appreciated - our power had been off since 1 am. He was being sweet - you know - like the good husband that he is. I ate it, and then thought about it later - is bacon meat? (asking for a friend). Oh well, I will just not eat bacon twice next year.
is it just me, or does everyone sort of feel sorry for Lola? Haha! Wren loves kitties!
I am on record with saying we should have had a snow day. Oh well, at least we don't have to make it up!
Happy beginning of lent - I hope we all learn something, see some positive changes, exhibit empathy, distribute peace, and emulate Jesus.
