Madison and Andrew got a load of gravel. These pictures of the girls so excitedly playing on the pile made me smile. I bet by the time they finish helping spread the pile they will never want to see another pile of gravel again!
Our chickens were delivered. Finally. We ordered them quite some time ago. I always feel better when they arrive alive. We did have a few weak ones that I wasn’t surprised didn’t make it through the afternoon. They were just not perking up. But most were healthy and started right in eating and glugging down water! I love little newly hatched chickens. They are soooo cute! We have 40 meat birds, Madison has 20 and I got 25 laying hens- a brown egg layer special. Interestingly, most of the brown egg layers were light colored chicks. I can’t wait to see what they look like when they are grown! I’m sure they will be amazing. I know chickens are sort of smelly. And they are weird animals, and I know that a lot of the time chicken food is more than what eggs cost, but I love my chickens. I also like to eat chicken. And if momma is happy, then everyone is happy!
