Workin’ for the weekend

I worked all weekend at the liquor store.  I don’t plan these things, but sometimes they happen.  As a result of knowing I would be tied up, Jim and I ran a few errands on Friday evening.  He bought me a bistro table to go with my chairs.  I have all the project components, but lacked time to make them happen.  I am excited about next weekend, when I am vowing to do nothing except clean my house, work on my projects and maybe, just maybe get caught up around here!

Saturday, as I was at work, Andrew texted to see if the girls and he could come swim.  I told him I was  not home but they were welcome to come over.  When I got home from work, I grabbed Quincy, Harper and Saige and we ran over to my mom’s house to deliver her a couple of things and see if she needed help with anything.  We then ran up and cleaned the church, as we are taking care of that this month.  The flowers up there looked pretty sad, so we also watered them and then headed home.    When I got home from the church/mom excursion, Jim was waiting for me to go look at a car for Preston.  Andrew and the girls were driving in as we were driving out. So they swam with Aunt Bubba and Saige.  Jim and I drove the "new" car and then Jim asked me if I might be willing to watch the girls so he and Andrew could go creek fishing!   Those two are always cooking up a fishing trip!

I told them I didn’t mind hanging with my girls as long as the girls were up for helping me do a few things outside.  We worked on the baby chickens - getting more straw in their cage because they are already getting stinky!  Wrenley helped me weed the strawberry bed - and ate every single ripe strawberry there was!  My strawberries are few, but tasty!  She also ate the last of the raspberries!  I then asked the girls if they wanted to go pick blackberries.  Of course they did, and Wrenley grabbed a planter from the garden to put hers in!  Quincy walked down with us - and helped us pick.  We were wearing gloves because the thorns are real!  Wrenley didn't care about thorns!  She was elbows deep in the thicket because she discovered a new love!  Girl loves her some berries!  She also refused to share with Evelyn!  Sadly, there really weren't really very many left.  I guess if I want blackberry syrup and some for the freezer, I will have to make a trip over to Baldwin to the you pick place.  I thought it might be fun to take the girls over there, but I am thinking Wrenley might get kicked out for eating more than she picks!

Apparently, these girls decided I needed more photos on my phone?  :)
I do want to thank them - because I was literally gone all weekend.  They cooked, cleaned, kept the animals watered, and kept the pool skimmer clean for me.  I appreciate their help! They also were very helpful with the little girls when they were at the house.

On Sunday, we usually have Sunday dinner, I schlep around the house after church getting things done, and spend some time with my people.  Yesterday, I was at the liquor store all day.  I don't mind working there, but I did miss my Sunday!
