Summer break means bus drivers don't have any kids to pick up. Madison didn't get the memo though - cause look - she has extra kids! :) She was helping out a friend with their boys. The kids all had a really fun time playing together. I think this is about the cutest motor cycle gang I have ever seen!
Having Jim home has been great. We have been accomplishing several projects that we wanted to do, and a few that we didn't really want to do, but that needed done. Yesterday, he helped us fence out a pen for the 4-H goats. Saige was less than excited about building fence, but with the girl's help, it really didn't take all that long. We got the 4-H goats out of the pen that I need for the baby chickens which should arrive later this week. The goats were pretty excited to have more room to run!
I also had Jim help me get the tiller running so that I could plant the stupid amount of plants that I bought at the Farmer's Market on Monday. I still have a couple of plants to put in, but I am just not convinced that I need the catnip that the lady threw in for free. :)
We have a lot more mulching to do, in order to minimize the amount of weeds that seem to take over quicker than I care to admit. But I am excited to see that I already have tomatoes and zucchini coming on. I also got some raspberry and blackberry plants from a friend, but I am starting to worry that they aren't perking back up from the transplanting we did. Fingers crossed that the insane amount of water I am giving them works!
I had a township meeting last night. I had to take a check to a neighbor on the way home. I was sort of awe struck with the beauty of the sun setting over the wheat fields. I had to stop and take a couple of photos, and then I had to ride home with the windows down, sucking in the fresh air and being happy that at 9 pm the sun was just going down. Thank you summer, for the longer days and the happy views.
I confess that sometimes I am easily amused by the most random things. Colin sent me this photo of Maude's brother. I spent a good hour laughing over the fact that Maude's brother is named Curtis! Now I don't care who you are, that is funny!

At the beginning of summer, I was sort of sad about not having any ball teams to run after. I joked with Jim about where we were going to eat dinner if we weren't at the ballpark. Turns out, we have a hard time staying away from the ballpark. I just can't not go watch Evie! She is really doing a good job. Her little team is trying hard, and they are sweet little girls. I enjoy watching them. Plus, I know how much Jim loves ball, and if I encourage him to go watch games with me, we can sit down a little. We have been working really hard and I need the break! :) Plus....nachos.
Poppy always willing to share his snacks, and his drink too apparently! Kid had her own drink, but Poppy's was colder!
