Today is Preston’s 21sr birthday. Since he disappointed his mom and didn’t send her a birthday photo, I had to improvise with the most recent photos I had on my phone. We didn’t get to see Preston today, but Quincy did go down to celebrate with him last night, and took his birthday gift for us. We figured a 21 year old birthday isn’t going to be one for mom and dad to come hang out. Nor did we think he would be in any shape for us to buy lunch. From what Quincy told us, we would be correct. We did call and wish him a happy birthday, and confirmed that he was not in a mood for our happy voices. ;)
Next week we will catch him and get his birthday dinner or something.
We are very proud of Preston. It is hard to believe he is all grown! I am in complete disbelief. Man, that was fast.
He is a good “kid.” He is sweet and smart and knows what he wants to do with his schooling/career. He works hard and pays his own way. We just couldn’t be happier with the man he has grown up to be. Love you Preston! Happy birthday!
Cameron decided he would also come down. He helped with the attic fan and tree cutting as well. I am always happy when they help Jim - they are much stronger (and braver with power tools) than I am. They worked hard and accomplished a lot. (Thank you boys)
Mallory came a bit early and helped me prep lunch after mass. I had said I was making Bierox, and potato soup. We started to eat and I was thinking the soup tasted a little weird. After a Few bites, I realized I didn’t put any potatoes in the soup! So we had cream of ham soup- aka potato-less potato soup. Honestly it wasn’t that bad!
Madison and the girls came without Andrew, as he was working today. GG came over and brought crafts. It was a good afternoon. I liked catching up with almost everyone. I missed Preston, and Quincy had to leave after a little while to go to work. Spencer had gone home yesterday to be with Volt since he is still needing to be walked on a leash after his surgery. Sunny was helping Preston with birthday stuff. I am sad we missed them.
And now we must have the Sunday sadness and go get organized for this new work week.
