Friday evening was Preston's 8th grade graduation. He was not overly excited about it. One reason why is that he really, really likes jr. high. He isn't excited about moving to the high school at all. I know he will be fine when he gets there, but right now he is happy where he is and can't see any reason to move on! (Only kid ever to love jr. high I think?). The other thing he said that cracked me up was "8th grade graduation is hardly a life accomplishment, so why are we making a big deal of it?" Well my son, because in this family, we celebrate all the milestones. All of them. Leaving grade school is a reason to have cake, and we all like cake! He said he likes my reasoning, and requested chocolate cake! :)
We were happy to have almost all the kids home. Cameron had to work, so we missed him! He promised to torment Preston a little later! No cake for Cameron.
Preston has had the same group of friends since pre-school. We all love them! They are growing up too fast, and I am thankful that they have each other's backs. Life long friends are a true life blessing!
Colin and Preston both have friends named Seth! Colin's friend Seth is a brother to one of Preston's bff's. Colin and Seth have been friends since they were little bitties too. Preston's friend Seth is a really nice kid.
One of the reasons that Preston likes Jr. High so much is because of the Hug's. Mr. Hug and Mrs. Hug are amazing teachers and Preston loves them both. Mr. Hug might have even made Preston cry a little bit. They are some of the best! I have on occasion been less than happy with our district, but one thing remains consistent, and that is that we have wonderful, amazing teachers who love the kids. We are beyond blessed in that department.
Chocolate cake, and ice cream sundaes.....Preston says it was worth the fuss just for that!
I am extremely proud of this kid, and can't wait to watch him in high school!
