Weekend o' parties

Yesterday Cam brought home 6 boys after school for a slumber party for his birthday. They were very, very loud, but pretty well behaved and I think they had lots of fun. Cam learned a little lesson about small town life. The boys all went for a 'walk around town' I warned them not to do anything bad etc. Cam has a friend whose grandpa owns the bar my sister works at. They went in to get 'free drinks' when they were out and about. My sister was laughing about it today, so I told Cam ' I heard you went to Conrad's last night' - his eyes got huge and he said "HOW DID YOU KNOW THAT???" So I did the little talk about how in a small town your parents will know about what you have done before you ever make it back home. Lesson to be learned early before the charges get any more serious! :)
The high school had their winter semi-formal tonight. Mallory got all dressed, did her hair, put on makeup, looked very nice, and then decided not to go!

So Madison went off alone, sporting the new Christmas dress that our neighbor Bev bought her on their shopping excursion - it is her Christmas gift and she looked very pretty, much to her father's grief! She borrowed the sweater from Mallory, it was COLD tonight!!
Tonight we had Harper's first birthday party.

Mallory and Madison helped grandma make the cakes. Grandma made her 'a small cake of her very own' - except that the cake was not small, and grandma made it checkerboard, so it was very pretty and kind of a shame to let her mangle it to death!

She didn't like the candle or everyone looking at her!
She does like cake though!

Especially pink checkerboard cake!

Harper got lots of new stuff to keep her busy until Christmas! I think she had a good time!
Tomorrow we have a Mexican dinner at church. I am excited about good food! After that I guess we are going to break down and add some Christmas spirit to our house before Mallory comes totally unglued about it!
