Quincy spent last weekend babysitting for the neighbor’s critters. They paid her very generously. She wanted to use the money to get some more guineas. She found some in Lane. We used mapquest and it said 45 minutes away. The lady also told Quincy that they were mature guineas. Both of these things were false. It was a solid hour and 20 minute drive. These guineas are about half grown. The drive wasn’t too big of a deal. It isn’t like we have a lot going on right now and the scenic drive was nice. The guineas being half grown is a big deal. They need to be mature before you can free range them or they get eaten. Since we drove sort of a long way, we went ahead and got them. We have them penned up. Hopefully in a couple months we can release them to tick clearing duties!
You’ll have to ignore my old sloppy shoes, but seriously this is the sweetest little doggo. We are all infatuated. He is so little. He’s doing fairly well with potty training and is sleeping most of the night. He is a great addition to the family. The only problem I have with him is that he is so tiny that I worry he will be stepped on. We are all learning to walk a little lighter.
We had Evie most of yesterday. She didn’t take a nap at all. After playing, swimming, eating a massive dinner and hanging with her aunties she was pretty close to crashing. She was fighting sleep when aunt Bubba and aunt Cincy took her for a shopping cart ride with her milk and her puppy. She wasn’t too excited to get out!
This week the governor mandated that schools wait until after Labor Day to start. Honestly, Jim and I have huge decisions to make regarding what we are doing this year with the kids schooling, so I was happy to have more time to decide. I truly believe our governor is trying hard during unprecedented times. Also it’s a big win for us summer lovers to get a couple extra weeks!
