For Father’s Day, we had to go to KCI and pick Preston and Quincy up from their trip. Jim was actually excited about this, because a trip to Kansas City meant that he could eat at the Chartroose Caboose. The man does love a good philly.
Jim is a man who likes what he likes. No amount of us telling him that Hardee’s is nasty will convince him not to eat there. See, he used to eat there with his grandma Alice, so the memories he made bring him happiness, despite the food. In this case however, the food really is good, but I believe for him it is the memories of running around during high school that make the place really special. Either way, he was happy, although as we were there we learned the flight was going to get in early, so we had to get it to go. Philly in the car isn’t really the best idea. Stain stick for the win!
Jim is a good dad. Our kids are lucky to have a man they can rely on, who will defend them and protect them. Nobody has your back like your daddy.
Jim and I were both blessed to be raised by hardworking, honest family men. In the dads department, our family is top of the line.
Our travelers returned from DC. They had a good time, although they didn’t have a lot of stories. I think In the days to come we will hear more about it! I believe they were exhausted. It is a trip that they literally run the kids - they see as much as you can squish into a weeklong trip. I’m glad they had fun, and glad to have them back safe!
