Having a weekend is a plus.

It was a pretty rough week here.   Board meetings, late nights, school decisions, work meetings, fair prep, just a plethora of stuff to do. I am so relieved to see the weekend!
In addition to the rest of the junk mentioned above, we were also given a bushel of apples from a friend.  We noticed they are pretty soft, so we are just making them into apple butter.   It is pretty easy,  makes the house smell amazing, and the kids will enjoy eating it for breakfast this winter.
Carlos has now gone a few days without a seizure.  The frequent feedings seem to be helping.  Of course, he is getting some snacks such as peanut butter, cheese and pepperoni.  He now isn’t overly excited by puppy chow!   Spoiled little mess!  He may be spoiled, but we sure are enjoying him!  We are working on getting him to ring a bell to go outside.  He doesn’t ring it, but Evelyn rings it and says “side.”  I guess we trained her!  Evie has also finally started saying Preston’s name, except she calls him Pepsi.  It’s the cutest!

Quincy is taking care of a couple of our neighbor’s critters and yards this week and weekend.  I cannot wait until she can drive!   She takes the driving test soon.  The DMV is yet another thing messed up by the pandemic.  We had to make an appointment. She cannot take the written and driving test on the same day. So basically, lots of appointments for something you used to be able to do in one trip.   Some of the pandemic response just doesn’t make sense to me.  I truly am trying to stay positive and flexible.  It’s just that every where you turn there is some strange rule, closing time, appointment needed for things we used to take for granted.  I miss our old life.  I miss the days when the biggest problem  of sending the kids back to school was fitting in shopping for supplies.  I hope we can get a vaccine, or an effective treatment very soon.  I am sure that those things won’t come without their own set of problems though.  Patience and more patience.
