Band picnic

Tonight was the annual band picnic and parade preview night.  The band boosters cooked 150 hamburgers and 150 hot dogs.  At one point, I was manning 2 grills.  Luckily not for a real long time.  The kids enjoyed the dinner, the parents enjoyed the preview performance.   The band sounded pretty good!  Preston is playing trumpet.  Quincy decided her band days are over.    We have 116 kids enrolled in the high school band this year.  That is the most ever.  I am proud of the growth, the directors are amazing, and the work we put in as band boosters feels like it is doing actual good.   It was a good night.

Last night, the girls spent the night at grandma’s for a ‘before summer ends’ sleep over.   Evie, Saige and Harper all had a great time!  Today they went to the lake for their annual picnic lunch and swimming day.  Quincy met them and helped grandma.  I heard great things.   Saige is exhausted tonight though- I guess early to bed did not happen, but early to rise did!   Thanks Evie!

Today was fun, this week has been crazy though and I am stoked that the weekend is here!
