The start of something.

Well, the kids we have left at home (sometimes referred to as the younger 4), are not overly involved in sports.   That is fine, they have other things they like doing more.  They all do love playing summer ball though.  Quincy and Preston are too old now, or maybe too busy working.   Harper and Saige both wanted to play though!  Saige was not super thrilled with her team colors, but I love them!  My favs!
Anyway- Saige had her first game today.  The girls are both playing through the Carbondale Rec.  Over there, they like to start the season with what they call “Opening Day at the C.”   They have scrimmage games, have specials on concessions, sell discounted pool passes, and I’m not sure what all else.  It is a fun day, although in the past, it seemed to get rained out.  But today, you couldn’t have asked for a nicer day!   Harper’s team did not play today, I guess they failed to find someone to scrimmage.  Saige’s team played against the other team from  Carbondale in the same age group.   It was fun to watch.  They okayed pretty well!

Saige got to pitch for 2 innings, something she wanted to do, but with being the younger side of the team, wasn’t sure if she would get to.  She did a great job!!   She had several strike outs, and only allowed 1 run in the first inning.  She did great.   She also had at bats.  She did great there as well!    I enjoyed watching her play!   It’s a good part of summer for us!

After her game, Saige was invited to a birthday party for a friend.  She is staying at a hotel, swimming the night away!   She was absolutely chomping at the bit to get there.  Since we had to run to town anyway, I had a list of errands.  We ended up skipping a couple of them, because it was getting late and we were tired!  We did manage to get groceries and brought home dinner for the girls though.  We will be close to town tomorrow for a party, so we will just finish up with the errand list at that point!

I am still really enjoying these crazy beasts.  The undertaker is much friendlier than Randy.   I like to sit and watch them swim. And feed them veggies and watch them chow down!

Evie was here for a little while yesterday.  Idk if you can tell,  but Harper  tried to “fix” Evie's eyebrows like hers. She got stopped mid-job!   Evie went camping with her dad last night.  Jim joined them for a while and they went fishing.  She was soooo excited about camping!  She even told poppy she would roast him some of her marshmallows!

This day wore us all out.  It was fun but now Carlos says it is time for sleep!
