4th - my fav

We had a truly awesome day!   Our little town does things up big for the 4th of July!  We started out the day at the 18th annual bike parade.

Colin drove up for the day.  Evelyn wanted to ride her Elsa bike.  Saige agreed to helping her. Colin brought up his new tandem bike for he and Cameron to ride. Mallory got everyone adequately decorated.   I am not clear on why Saige felt the clown wig was needed?

Saige wanted to walk Carlos in the parade as well; but he is a naughty dog who starts dog fights with other parade walking dogs.   He had to sit with Daddy instead.

The parade started.

We saw Colin and Cameron.  Where was Evelyn?

She was at the very end.  Peddling for all she was worth.  Grandma Rachel, Grandma Sandy, Justin and Saige all helping her.  Poppy also jumped on for a turn of pushing.

We made it to the end of the parade where we were rewarded with ice cream floats and hot dogs.  Ohh and a goody bag from the police department.

After the parade, the boys went up to the hospital to visit Wrenley (and Madison and Andrew.). We are all in love with this sweet girl!

We stayed home, spent a long time lighting stuff on fire, spent a couple hours in the pool, amd rode bikes around the driveway.

Then our hay man showed up with a load of hay I bought.  Thank goodness all 3 boys unloaded it for me.  They made short work of it, and now the pony is set for the whole winter. (We hope).

Mallory and I made side dishes and dessert, the boys smoked ribs, and grilled up some burgers and dogs.

Madison and Wrenley were released.  Mallory and I traded bringing them dinner for baby snuggles.  This little girl is sooo sweet and cute. We are so in love!

We had a hard time getting her big sister to share!   I asked Evie if she wanted to stay home or go to the Overbrook events with us.  She chose to go.

They had a water slide, face painting, food trucks, free watermelon, kayak races, and of course the annual fireworks show.  We had a great time there!   The only thing was that we waited in line for so long to get snow cones that we ended up watching the fireworks from the line!   No worries, snow cones are worth it!

When we took Evelyn home, she was absolutely done.  I hope she sleeps well at her “first sleepover with her new sister!”
I absolutely love the 4th.  It has always been my favorite but this year somehow seems even better than normal!  Happy birthday America!
