Harper had her 2 week checkup on her ear tubes today. She was supposed to go yesterday, but the van had a dead battery and so Jim rescheduled for today. Her tubes are clear and her hearing is good, and her eardrums are moving normally, so I guess that is good.
Last week, Harper lost her shoe. It really didn't bother me, as the shoes were bought on a clearance sale, and were soft soled, which means that they were really taking a beating with her walking everywhere. They were also starting to get a little small. Today, we got her a new pair. This is her first pair of "real" tennis shoes. The girl loves shoes! She carried them all the way through walmart and then cried when we checked out. She then carried them all the way to the car and held them on her lap until we got home. When we put them on her, however, she just did not quite know what to do! She kept staring at her feet and reaching down and petting the shoes. It was hilarious! She did figure it out, and we had a bit of trauma at bath time, and again at bedtime when we forced them off her feet! I am hoping that she will continue to love them, and will want to keep them on (unlike her socks).
The kids seem to have had good days back at school. With 2 snow days they now have a three day week followed by a three day weekend! Hard times! They were getting a bit housebound. We just don't stay home very often, at least not for days on end with everything being cancelled and having nowhere to go! Although I often say that a hermit's life sure sounds nice, if I get to be a hermit, I want the kids to still have things to do!
