We tried very hard after yesterday to have a low-key day here at home. All of us are battling either colds or allergies, and Harper has been pretty fussy. After church we did some much needed cleaning and then I took the girls to take care of the hogs. We hadn't been home very long when I hear screaming from the back yard. Quincy had cut her hand on a piece of re-bar. The cut was pretty deep. So I loaded her up and took her to the ER...because nobody can ever get hurt when the doctor or the express care places are open! I dreaded trying to hold her down while they stitched her hand - I had visions of terror and excerpts from the "Exorcist" running through my head. Luckily, the doctor that we saw decided that even though it would probably hold better with stitches, that Quincy would be less traumatized if they just glued it back together. She didn't stay very still or cooperate very well with them, but at least it was fast and there were no needles involved! We weren't at the ER very long...at least not as long as usual - in and out in an hour and a half. We left with strict directions to keep the glue mostly dry and clean. Of course, we were home about 10 minutes when she decided to dig in mud in the flower pots on the deck. The glue seemed to hold up though, and after taking a bath it didn't look too bad.
Dare I think about having a calm day tomorrow??
